Why cleaning your vending machine is important:

A clean vending machine is essential to generate sales - a dirty vending machine is repulsive. More importantly, your vending machine comes into contact with many people and where there are many people, there are also many bacteria that colonize the surfaces of your vending machine. This is not only unappetizing, but can also be dangerous. To keep the hygiene and food safety of your vending machine at a high level at all times, you should therefore clean your vending machine regularly.

The right cleaning:

1. preparation

Disconnect your vending machine from the power supply
Wear protective clothing (e.g. disposable gloves)

2. external cleaning

To clean the housing and control panel of your vending machine, use a mild cleaning agent in combination with a microfiber cloth
To clean the display of your vending machine, we recommend using a special display cleaner, which should also be applied to a microfiber cloth

3. internal cleaning

Remove the contents of your vending machine
Clean the product compartments with a damp cloth (mild detergent is not a must, but can be used)
If you have already opened your vending machine, you should check whether the payment systems also need to be cleaned. If so, you should avoid using cleaning agents to prevent damage. It is best to use a dry cloth for this purpose

4. after cleaning

Refill with products: After a short drying time (or you wipe out the vending machine with a dry cloth), you can refill your vending machine with products. You can then reconnect your vending machine to the power supply.
Function test: As a precaution, you should carry out a test purchase to ensure that all functions are working properly

How often should you clean your vending machine?

This depends very much on where the vending machine is located and how it is used. If your vending machine is outside, weekly cleaning may make sense or even be necessary. A vending machine that is installed indoors does not need to be cleaned quite as often, of course - in this case we consider monthly cleaning to be sensible.
